We are excited to offer this 1970 Porsche 911S Coupe finished in Sepia Brown over a Russet leatherette interior. Marking the first model year in which the 911 engine displacement was increased for performance, this 1970 911S was reportedly sold new from Hilltop Porsche/Audi of Virginia Beach after the original owner traded in his 1969 Corvette.  The car changed hands several times before making its way to Canada where it was acquired by the owner of Riegel Tuning in 1992.  It was then sold to a private owner back in the U.S. in 2005 who carried out restoration including a full glass-out respray, refurbished wheels, and rebuilds of the braking and suspension systems.  Accompanied by an extensive history of maintenance as well the original owner’s manuals and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this rare U.S. market 1970 911S is now being offered for sale out of Utah.

In 2005, this 911S was treated to a full glass-out respray in its factory specified color of Sepia Brown (7474) which included refinishing of the door jambs and undersides of the front and rear decklids.  An optional heated rear window and rear window wiper were equipped from the factory along with the Comfort Equipment package which adds gold lettering on the rear.  As an S model, this 911 features a lightweight aluminum rear decklid and central rear bumper panel.  This example has also been modified with H4 headlamps and a chrome rear bumper bar. The 15” Fuchs wheels have been refinished, anodized, and fitted with a set of colored Porsche center crests and Pirelli P6000 tires dated from 2018. Inside, this 911S sports a Russet leatherette interior with S-specific instrumentation, aluminum door sills, and a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel.  Coco floor mats have been fitted and a period-correct Blaupunkt AM/FM radio is mounted in the dashboard. This 911S is equipped with an air-cooled 2.2L flat-six engine featuring Bosch mechanical fuel injection, forged pistons, and an output of up to 180 HP.  The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed 901 manual gearbox, and stopping power is handled by aluminum brake calipers paired with ventilated rotors at all four corners.  Koni shock absorbers have also been equipped along with SSI heat exchangers and a Dansk muffler. The brakes and suspension are said to have been rebuilt during the restoration and an extensive collection of maintenance records will accompany the sale as depicted in the photo gallery. This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, service log, and sales documentation, a collection of maintenance records, a toolkit, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title.  A highly sought after and beautifully presented long-hood 911S, this 1970 example is just waiting to be cherished by a new caretaker.
